Benefits of Red Meat and Nose To Tail Nutrition

As we are now in Autumn and the days are getting shorter, we need to make sure we are adapting our routine to fit in with the colder, damp days.

I find that I require organic red meat, especially in the Autumn and Wintertime to provide my body with energy and to sustain the natural nutritional support, especially post-exercise. The satiety factor is an important need for me. Slow-cooked or casserole dishes with red meat and vegetables instantly make me feel warmer and they’re also so comforting when the colder nights draw in.

Another great benefit is the flavor coming from the meat and natural, animal fat. It’s so nutrient-dense that it stops any desire for craving sweet stuff due to the fact that it takes longer for our body to digest and breaks down the fatty meat cuts. It’s important to mention that this helps to manage blood sugar levels so there is no quick spike in insulin due to the nature of the ingredients.

I see great skin benefits from organic meat as well. It feels more cushioned and firmer due to the fact that it contains collagen. I think the comfort of organic meat with vegetables is massively beneficial to how my skin looks and feels when I am feeding it seasonally with great produce.

Cheaper Meat Cuts For Slow Cookers

Please note that I do not just use expensive cuts. Eating meat does not need to cost a fortune. I regularly use the lesser cuts of meat since they have outstanding flavor and when cooked slowly they become butter-like and sweeter in taste. Try using lamb shank, shoulder of lamb, oxtail, brisket, beef chuck steak, beef shin and short ribs, liver, ham hock, or a pork shoulder if you’re looking for cheaper cuts that can give your slow-cooked dish lots of flavors.

The other advantage is that I can prepare a meat dish in advance, with or without a marinade. I can do a one-pot dish roast, slow-cooked with maximum flavor without it being arduous.

Organic cuts of meat from nose to tail are such a rich and complete source of amino acids and vitamin B, as well as the minerals such as iron, phosphorus, selenium, and copper.

Here are some key benefits of eating red meat:

  • Muscle repair and growth

  • Balanced hormones

  • Improved nervous system

  • Healthy red blood cell count

  • Glowing skin

  • Improved energy levels
