Tips for Men's Health and Wellness
Aside from the nutrient-dense foods that are extremely important for men’s health and a regular exercise routine, the top priority health goal for a guy should be wellbeing.
Men’s mental health is often overlooked, but it is such a vital component of their health! It is important dear gentlemen that alongside your diet, workout, and grooming habits, you also develop a stable system for self-care to make sure you have enough time to rest from your busy lives.
Regular, Multifaceted Workouts
Exercise to stay active both physically and mentally. Be mindful of quick fixes and short term goals - swap them for long term solutions. Focus on flexibility and joint mobility as much as on the strength work, find ways to work on the smaller and larger muscle groups.
Challenging your mind is also a form of exercise - your brain needs to flex its cells just like the body does. Try journaling, learning a new game or a new sport, practicing meditation, or learn an instrument.
As mentioned already, rest is important for everyone so take a longer break when you feel tired to allow yourself to recover from a workout. Emphasize consistency and quality over quantity. Get an outdoor exercise session done to boost your vitamin D intake and serotonin - the happy hormone. ;-)
men & Self-care
Be mindful of your alcohol intake and try taking a break, completely if possible. Give your body some time to recover and observe how many positive changes will happen when you learn to say NO to alcohol.
Cultivate a healthy network of friendships with both men and women. Reach out to someone to chat about your concerns, don’t be afraid to open up. Look for the real meaning as well as happiness.
Manage stress by getting some early nights. You’ll know why women love soaking in the bathtub for ages if you give it a go as well - take a long relaxing bath with salts twice weekly.
Don’t neglect the importance of getting regular check-ups for prostrate and colon cancer, as well as cholesterol level and blood pressure.
Look for the real meaning in life as well as happiness. Slow down and take some time to contemplate life over a cup of herbal tea.
